<b>MAKING A CV WORK FOR YOU</b> <br />
<b><br /></b></div>
<div align="justify">
The objective of a <a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/10/competitive-resume-writing.html">CV</a> is to let the reader/recruiter know few important points about you. These can be: </div>
<ul>
<li> <div align="justify">
<a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/building-resume-structure-process.html">Personal Information</a> (name, address, telephone number)</div>

<li> <div align="justify">
<a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/building-resume-how-to-write.html">work history</a> – (the name of the company and how long you worked there)</div>

</li>
</ul>
<div align="justify">
You can also include following details but I would never suggest you to do that because in most cases the reader may not be interested in this information. </div>
<ul>
<li> <div align="justify">
Marital status</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
Addresses of where you worked</div>

<i>The aim of a CV</i> </div>
<div align="justify">
The aim/purpose of the <a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/rules-for-resume-writing.html">CV/resume</a> is to do more than simply inform the reader of your life to date. </div>
<div align="justify">
My definition would be: </div>
<blockquote>
<div align="center">
<i>“A CV is your sales document that highlights your credentials, work history and achievements in such a way that the reader is motivated to meet you.”</i></div>
</blockquote>
<div align="justify">
Remember the objective of CV is not to get you a but to get you an interview call or a meeting. The following diagram illustrates the importance of CV. </div>
<div align="justify">
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-QWEtaWKQCXM/TvhPliclE1I/AAAAAAAAABE/sGPMmzPiVpE/s1600-h/clip_image002%25255B4%25255D.gif"><img alt="clip_image002" border="0" height="205" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-wfhI5XRGK9U/TvhPms5tALI/AAAAAAAAABM/UG37pEoftBM/clip_image002_thumb%25255B1%25255D.gif?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="clip_image002" width="305" /></a></div>
<div align="justify">
The CV plays a central role in getting you from where you are to where you want to be: </div>
<ul>
<li> <div align="justify">
It may be the part of an application form. Cover letter may also accompany a CV.</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
It leads to the all-important interview/meeting.<br />
<br /></div>
</li>
</ul>
<div align="justify">
<b>YOUR CHANCE TO ‘SELL’NOT ‘TELL’</b><br />
<b><br /></b></div>
<div align="justify">
I was looking to buy a home lately. When I frequented auctions, I gathered a variety of home details – actually an excellent heap of them! </div>
<div align="justify">
The objective of details was to excite my attention by: </div>
<ul>
<li> <div align="justify">
Informing me of the specifics of the building</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
Presenting the residence in the best possible lumination, so that I would want to perspective it.</div>
</li>
</ul>
<div align="justify">
It was never expected that after viewing the details I would be earnestly show my desires to buy that house (Although the estate agents may not mind it if I showed such feelings). <br />
Someone desiring to buy a home has a lot of qualities to select from. Individuals may have certain requirements that need to be met:</div>
<ul>
<li> <div align="justify">
price</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
location</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
accommodation</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
size</div>
</li>
</ul>
<div align="justify">
But many homes may match these requirements. The aim of the residence broker therefore is to highlight those details in the most eye-catching way, so that individuals want to check out the residence to discover out more. </div>
<div align="justify">
Our CV should do the same. The objective of the CV is not fulfilled until we get a call for an interview. It is vital that we portray our image in such a high class way that it catches the attention of the reader and develops the interest for meeting. So our CV is not merely about providing details about ourselves. <br />
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
<b>Our CV is our personal sales brochure</b> <br />
<b><br /></b></div>
<div align="justify">
As opposed to an application form, when we have little decision in what we add and the way we present the details, the CV is absolutely different: </div>
<ul>
<li> <div align="justify">
We style the structure of our CV.</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
We choose what thing to list and what information to omit.</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
We decide how lengthy it will be and how it’ll be presented.</div>
</li>
</ul>
<div align="justify">
The competition has grown enormously in the past decade as the people with high qualification are increasing and the opportunities are limited in the market. Everyone try hard to catch the attention of the reader. Everyday recruiters are bombarded with hundred of CV’s, if not thousand, most of which will end up in the bin. </div>
<ul>
<li> <div align="justify">
How to save our CV from entering the bin.</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
How can we create an immediate, good effect on the reader?</div>
</li>
</ul>
<div align="justify">
When we start to see our CV as our individual sales brochure, which markets what we have done and can do for target organization, then we have a great chance to achieve our objectives. <br />
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
<b>Avoid information overload</b> <br />
<b><br /></b></div>
<div align="justify">
Unfortunately, many individuals go immediately into the ‘tell mode’. A job hunter had collected a nine-page CV loaded with information! The beginning collections included: </div>
<ul>
<li> <div align="justify">
Age and birthday (just to stress how old he really was!)</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
All the colleges and universities he had joined throughout his lifestyle.</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
The year he was committed.</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
The age range of his kids.</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
All his pursuits.</div>
</li>
</ul>
<div align="justify">
This was followed by a specific review of his 35-year career! Sorry, but there was only one location this CV was going – in the bin. </div>
<div align="justify">
When composing our CV, we should consider the following <br />
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
<b>It should be:</b> </div>
<ul>
<li> <div align="justify">
Relevant</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
Selling your achievements</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
Easy to read and follow</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
Detailed and accurate</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
Truthful</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
Highlighting the skills you have developed both in and outside of work.</div>
</li>
</ul>
<div align="justify">
<b>It should NOT be:</b> </div>
<ul>
<li> <div align="justify">
Irrelevant</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
A long list of job titles and duties</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
Jumbled and cramped</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
Vague and lacking in detail</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
Dishonest.<br />
<br /></div>
</li>

<b>Knowing yourself better</b> <br />
<b><br /></b></div>
<div align="justify">
Many people could easily identify the fantastic information in others, but find out that complicated to do about themselves. They find it very hard and difficult. I am not exciting you to be intelligent and egotistic and tell the whole world how awesome you are! I merely want us to look actually and properly at: </div>
<ul>
<li> <div align="justify">
Who we are.</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
What we have done.</div>
</li>
<li> <div align="justify">
What we are capable of doing.</div>

<div align="justify">
We take for granted, ourselves, our abilities, achievements, qualification and practical knowledge. In developing your own CV, I believe you will see that we are not merely going through the activities of an educational, one-off exercise, but something much more essential. It is important how you see yourself and how you express yourself to the world. Many of us fail to achieve their goal even though they are potentially capable of that just because they suffer from low self-esteem. A CV is just one way of communicating yourself to the world and telling them “<i>This is what I did and this is how well I can do</i>”. So operate through Perfect Career Guide and in doing so, take a little while in developing your way of life. </div>

Without any look at the previous market impact of the product, it is continuously promoted by putting huge investments. Around the world, television programmes do not run without commercials (source of revenue generating), and sporting events are delayed in order for the viewers to receive ‘a message from our sponsor’.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p align="justify"> <p align="justify">The most important reason for a song to be successful is that how well the song was marketed, a research made by the radio programme. Whether the source of the marketing was television or You Tube, success wasn’t simply down to the quality of the song. <p>That’s a lesson we could all learn from. <p align="justify">It may seem very odd, individuals can also be considered as products/items. When they apply for a job or sell their services, they sell their skills, qualification, experience, qualities and potential. Human intervention has been reduced in every field and industry. Computers and automatic systems have occupied the most positions in the market. The competition has increased enormously while the opportunities are limited. Economic realities mean: <p align="justify">· In order to fulfill the financial needs of the family women are being forced to work. <p align="justify">· There is almost no market for fresh graduates, which in turn means that the market already has plenty of qualified people, with little or no experience. <p align="justify">· A ‘job for life’ is becoming the exception rather than the norm.<strong> </strong> <p align="justify">· People who served their entire lives in one industry now seeking alternative jobs because of reorganizations within companies. <p align="justify">· Most of the fresh graduates or self employed people opt to work on short term projects. <p align="justify">· By now people should be willing to work on a contract basis, without any job security. <p align="justify">· Working hours have been changed, people are ready to work in nights even though they realize that home life may suffer due to the time spent at work. Whilst many are not able to find even part-time job. <p align="justify">These statements may seem stark, but this is reality and these are the circumstances people are finding themselves in.<strong> </strong> <p align="justify">The CV may not be a magic wand and it may not be the solution to all our problems. But it is for sure the first and the most vital instrument to win you a job. Your resume is that powerful tool which can give you a call for an interview. It is only possible when individuals are motivated and have self-belief, those who think it is a time to bring change and trust their potential for them CV is an important marketing tool. <p><b>Who needs a CV?</b> <p>School/college leavers<br>Graduates<br>Women<br>Careers changers <br>Those made redundant<br>Consultants <br>Writers <p><b>When do we need a CV?</b> <p>When applying for: <p>– Internships<br>– Job<br>– Agency work<br>– Voluntary work<br>– Full and part time work<br>– Consultancy work<br>– Temporary work<br>– Academia (MS or PHD) <p>Perfect Career Guide injects the passion for achieving excellence.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-185073824845251866.post-41497198844179253092011-11-27T01:25:00.000-08:002011-12-26T10:22:32.011-08:00Resume Writing Two Rules To Live By<meta content='perfect career guide,career,resume,cv,help writing resume,resume guide,what is resume,job,cv guide' name='keywords'/><p align="center"><i>“Position yourself as the no.1 candidate.<br>Let the competition work to keep pace with you!”</i></p> <p align="justify"><b>Rule 1 - <i>Perfection Is Mandatory</i></b> <p align="justify">Visual display and perfection are crucial! The quality and standard of your <a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/10/competitive-resume-writing.html">resume</a> presentation is almost as vital as the material it contains. Quality catches the attention of the reader and will instantly give you an edge over your competitors.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p align="justify"> <p align="justify">Remember, people do not setup a meeting. They match resumes. Make sure that your resume shows your style and quality. If it is badly prepared and offered to the recruiters, no matter what it says - no one will read it. <p align="justify"><b>Rule 2 - <i>No Two Resumes Are Identical</i></b> <p align="justify">Each and every resume is different. Your task is to make an earnest effort to develop a resume that will efficiently market your qualifications, credentials, achievements and distinguish you from the other candidates applying for the same position. There are no set <a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/rules-for-resume-writing.html">rules</a> for writing style, format, typing or printing. People are different, employment background and/or histories are distinct from each other, <a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/building-resume-how-to-write-objective.html">career objectives</a> too vary and resumes are different. <p align="justify">Each of the resume samples that I would be posting in upcoming articles are “real-life” examples (specifics have been changed to protect privacy). What’s more important, each of these resumes has worked in opening doors, getting interviews and helping to close top-level management opportunities. Use the sample resumes to extract and develop your own ideas and solution to your high profile and high performing resume that will ease and accelerate the process of job hunt.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-185073824845251866.post-68424594250359839212011-11-07T08:23:00.000-08:002011-12-26T10:30:30.937-08:00Building Resume: The Structure & The Process<meta content='perfect career guide,career,resume,cv,resume sample,resume writer,a career job,how to write a resume,job,cv guide' name='keywords'/><p align="center"><strong><i>“Do not hire a man who does your work for money,<br> </i><i>but him who does it for love of it.”</i></strong><i></i> <p align="justify">In the previous articles I discussed a competitive resume, how to write objectives, professional experience and this article will focus on the education, professional & community affiliations, publications, personal information and other sections of the resume.</p> <a name='more'></a> <p align="justify"><strong>Education</strong> <p align="justify">In this section you should include all your studies starting from school, college to universities. A reverse chronological order is always preferred; it helps reader in knowing your latest education. Remember to mention ‘dates’ of all your degrees unless they were received 30 years ago. Don’t give someone a reason to exclude/ disqualify you without paying any heed to your achievements and your value. <p align="justify">It is not necessary to include all colleges you attended, only include those from which you received a degree. <u><a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/10/competitive-resume-writing.html">Resume</a></u> for continuing professional education should include a good sampling of course titles, universities. Don’t include all of them, highlight the most relevant information. <p align="justify"><strong>PROFESSIONAL & COMMUNITY AFFILIATIONS</strong> <p align="justify">Include your social and professional activities or any volunteer experience you feel is relevant to your <u><a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/building-resume-how-to-write-objective.html">career objectives</a></u> and is worth mentioning such as leadership roles, committee memberships, your belonging to any organization or accomplishments. Don’t overdo it - people will wonder how you have the time to work! <p align="justify"><strong>TECHNOLOGY SKILLS</strong> <p align="justify">If you belong to Information Technology industry or you are an Engineering student this section should be much more detailed. Include your knowledge and technical qualifications – hardware, software, developing tools, programming skills, networking, operating systems etc. If you don’t belong to IT industry such as medical doctor and/or a student a brief mention in your career summary may be appropriate. <p align="justify"><strong>HONORS & AWARDS</strong> <p align="justify">You can include it under Education or make a separate category. It includes your honors, achievements and awards. Achievements distinguish you from other candidates applying for the same positions. <p align="justify"><strong>PUBLICATIONS</strong> <p align="justify">Publications are the most important factor to validate your expertise. You can include your publications under <u><a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/building-resume-how-to-write.html">Career Summary</a></u> or in a separate category. <p align="justify"><strong>PUBLIC SPEAKING</strong> <p align="justify">You may also like to include the public speaking engagements including title of presentation/debate/speech, audience, location and date. <p align="justify"><strong>FOREIGN LANGUAGE AND TRAVEL</strong> <p align="justify">We are all becoming global - in our businesses and often in our private lives. Be sure to include your foreign language skills and travel experience either in your Career Summary or at the end of your <u><a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/rules-for-resume-writing.html">resume</a></u>. <p align="justify"><strong>PERSONAL INFORMATION</strong> <p align="justify">I would never suggest you to include personal information such as date of birth, marital status etc. or hobbies and interest. I only suggest that you include this information if – required by the employer – you want to tell your reader that you are not too young or too old to be shortlisted. – You have unusual interests that will grab someone’s attention. I know executives who were past Olympians, have ascended mountains on all seven continents, have trekked through “un-trekkable” places, are competitive tri-athletes and more. This type of information really sells. Include it. <p align="justify"><i><strong>NOTE:</strong> </i>Consolidate all of the “extras” - Affiliations, Publications, Languages, etc. is under one heading titled “Professional Profile.<i> </i>Sample format: <p align="justify"><strong>PROFESSIONAL PROFILE</strong> <p align="justify"><strong>Affiliations</strong> [Your Affiliations here] <p align="justify"><strong>Publications</strong> [Your Publications here] <p align="justify"><strong>Languages</strong> [Your Languages here i.e. German, Spanish etc.] <p align="justify"><strong>PC Software</strong> [Your PC Software here i.e. MS office, Open Office, Latex etc.]</p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-185073824845251866.post-8530823686336242852011-11-03T08:48:00.000-07:002011-12-26T10:55:08.832-08:00Building Resume: How to Write Professional Experiences<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<br />
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div align="center">
<i>“Place your focus on the value you have delivered to your previous employers<br />and the value you bring to a new organization”</i></div>
<div align="justify">
Professional Experience is the section in your <a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/10/competitive-resume-writing.html">resume</a> where you get the chance to draw the attention of the reader by highlighting your work experience, academic career and achievements. You need to give a little more time in writing this section as each word in this section really matters a lot. </div>
<a name='more'></a><div align="justify">
</div>
<div align="justify">
Your task here is to briefly and aggressively highlight your professional experience. You must discuss the four important things: <br />
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
<b>What did the company do?</b><b> </b> </div>
<div align="justify">
Tell about the company for example whether the company is a telecommunication operator, Internet Service Provider or a Vendor Company, little information that is sufficient for the reader. <br />
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
<b>Your challenge</b> </div>
<div align="justify">
Tell briefly about the organization and try to answer these questions, why did they hire you? Was it to manage the “status-quo” or did you have a special mission? <br />
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
<b>Your accountability</b> </div>
<div align="justify">
What was your job? How did you accomplish your tasks? <br />
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
<b>Your achievements</b> </div>
<div align="justify">
How did you contribute? What did you produce? <br />
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
Achievement lets you distinguish yourself from number of other qualified candidates. You prove your worth and contributions to the organization. Recruiter gets to know your qualities and understands the importance of your role in the organization. Achievement are important because it increases the chances for an interview call provided written nicely. For example if two candidates have the same qualification and experience in the relevant field, achievements will distinguish them both. Remember you got to be very careful in mentioning your achievements. <br />
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
<b>Position Descriptions</b> <br />
<b><br /></b></div>
<div align="justify">
Position descriptions may begin with the small introductory paragraph detailing your tasks and duties followed by the bulleted list of your achievements and contributions. Actually you need to let your reader know that you have the consistent nature of performing well, the idea is to make a significant impact. Tell your reader, “<i>This is what I did and this </i><i>is how well I did it.</i>” </div>
<div align="justify">
Your main focus should be on the achievements you made in earlier positions as this gives idea to the reader how well you served organizations in past. Keep the format same throughout your resume and try best to keep things as brief as possible. It is not necessary to mention your responsibilities in earlier positions unless than were unusual. </div>
<div align="justify">
How far back in time do you go when listing your employment experience? It is important to note that some of the positions you seek have age limits or some recruiters are extra cautious about the age. You certainly do not want to disqualify yourself because of your age. If you graduated in the recent past say 1985-1990, include the employment history. It is not necessary to include much details about the early position, you can list them or summarize them in a paragraph, what is important is your career progression. If you graduated prior to 1985-1990 you are advised to cut the employment history at some point and summarize the past experiences. In this article we will be discussing the two basic elements of a resume i.e.
Objective and Career Summary.</span></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">Whether you should include an
objective on your resume or not? </span></span><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">This will</span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">usually</span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span class="apple-style-span"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">be</span></span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">a difficult</span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">decision. The objectives are often quite
restrictive with respect to the type of job and field: </span>“The
search for a job in Pharmaceutical Sales & Selling.” Or if they say
something unclear: “Search for a senior management position at the level where
I can drive a business to strengthen revenue and improved profitability”<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
If you are
sure about your career goal (the type of position or industry you are
interested in) and have decided not to look at any opportunity other than that,
then you can surely put an Objective on your resume. But if you want your
resume in a variety of situations, so do not include an Objective, and
definitely not one that is imprecise and tells your reader nothing. Most people
try to write a general Objective and use the resume in every situation; this
will have a bad impact on the reader.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
As you
would like resume process is to be straightforward, quick and easy. Do not
think that you need to change or modify your Objective every time to match the
position you seek. In most situations
you would like to use identical resume many times, modifying the cover letter
for every specific chance.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
If
you have not included Objective in your resume than you need to have a strong
cover letter that fulfills the need of Objective as well. In this way you get a
chance to tailor your Objective to the particular company and their
requirements.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Generally
speaking Objectives are a nice tool to describe your vision in few words. It is
always recommended to write a brief Objective with a few hard hitting sentences.
It shows your courage and enthusiasm for work but always be realistic and avoid
embellished self praising. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<b>Career Summary<o:p></o:p></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Objective
is tool that lets your reader know about the demands and wishes that you have
associated with them. On the other hand Career Summary lets your reader know
about what you can do for them, how you can contribute to strengthening the
organization and why you are different from others. Career Summary is the only
indispensible and effective tool to ‘portray you image’. You sketch you picture
the way you want someone to think about you by highlighting your strengths and
experiences. You bring your reader into the confidence that you “fit” within
their organization.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
A
Career Summary is meant to grant a fast overview of your career history highlighting your
skills, credentials and knowledge. Career Summary can be written in a
paragraph, as a bulleted list, tabular form or any combination you wish. Your
resume shouldn’t be lengthy and imprecise rather it should be a <u><a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/10/competitive-resume-writing.html">competitive resume</a></u>. </div>

<br />
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
On
the one hand, this is often nice. You have got millions of space for creativity
and aptitude in presenting your qualifications. On the opposite hand, it
usually makes the task tougher. If there aren't any rules, no styles and no tactical,
how are you presupposed to recognize what to do? It often becomes a complex and
hectic process.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
But,
it can even be fun, decisive and extremely worthwhile once you are finished.
There's very little else that's as personally and professionally rewarding than
to look at your own <a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/resume-writing-two-rules-to-live-by.html">resume</a>, your credentials, your skills and your overall
glamorous career. It's energizing, morally supportive and a key part to your
successful job search campaign!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Definitely,
you’ll wish to incorporate your professional and academic credentials in your
resume. Apart from that, there is no restriction on the content you include,
how, what and where you embody it there are no limits. Most of the <a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/12/writing-cv-that-really-works.html">information</a> you provide must be relevant it will increase your chances for selection.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
The
single most important component in determining what data to incorporate in your
resume is your current <a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/building-resume-how-to-write-objective.html">objective</a>(s). Your <u><a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/10/competitive-resume-writing.html">resume</a></u> should support your
current goals, highlight your <a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/building-resume-how-to-write.html">professional </a>and academia experience and skills
most associated with those goals, and favorably position you for the position
you're seeking.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Here’s
a fast example. Let’s say that from 1995 to 2005 you were General Manager of a
reputed company. Then, from 2005 till date, you were Vice President of Sales
& Marketing. Nowadays you want to get back to the position of General
Manager. To achieve your current goal what skills, credentials,
responsibilities should be highlighted in your <u><a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/10/competitive-resume-writing.html">resume</a></u>? General
management, though it is your most recent experience before working as a Vice
President. If your goal is sales and marketing management, the strategy would
be precisely the opposite.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
I
usually call this as a “perfect snapshot”. In alternative words, you
appropriately weight your skills and knowledge, focusing to the areas that are
most suitably in line with your current goals. Your audience will be most
interested to know what is significant in your job search today.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">

<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
“Keep your message
strong, succinct and dynamic.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Over
the past decade, as the U.S. employment market has undergone dramatic and long-lasting
changes, resume writing has evolved into a way additional advanced and
additional subtle method. It is not enough to write a short list of your work
history and academic qualifications. The days are gone when a person used to
send few resumes to the recruiters and few in the responses to the
advertisements. A person was called for an interview one week and with couple
of weeks he had to give a joining.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
If
you still remember those times, you must forget it because everything has
changed now. The competition is more than ever before, highly qualified
professionals compete for limited number of positions that market is offering.
There must be something in you that distinguish you from others and resume is not
just a piece of paper but it is your price in the market. You must convince the
recruiter that you are the best choice for a particular position.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Resume writing has now developed into a proper
skill. You need to clearly and briefly mention your professional career and to
“sell” yourself at a high cost you must determine what experience, achievements
and qualification are worthy enough to make recruiter realize that you are
better than the crowd. Your resume must be fit onto 1-2 pages as it is very
time consuming for recruiters to shortlist resume’s for interview. Your resume
is the snapshot of you career not an autobiographical essay of your life.
Resume is the only chance to make a first impression, it necessary to spend
some time on resume and never write it in a signal sitting, think of the points
that are crispy and will develop the interest of the reader in resume. These things must be kept in mind while
writing a cover letter as well.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Are
there anv circumstances when a 3 page resume is appropriate?</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
If
you are applying for a high post i.e. CEO of a company than you must include
your affiliation, whether professional, civic or both, your achievements and
milestones. The company is not only looking for a professional but a person
with network of contacts and high reputation. In this case your resume may exceed
2 pages and it is quite acceptable in such situations. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
For
those of you in academia, scientific or medical research etc, your curriculum
vitae can be longer than two pages. I would like to mention here that CVs and
resume are different from each other. The purpose of resume is to “sell” while
CV is to highlight distinctions, projects, managerial and technological skills,
<a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/11/building-resume-how-to-write.html">professional achievements,</a> publications, education experience etc. CVs are the
detailed documents. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<br /></div>
</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-185073824845251866.post-87419393095165326272011-10-30T03:00:00.000-07:002011-10-30T06:44:48.168-07:00Types of Ethics<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There
are many styles of the analysis that could be involved in ethical subject
values. They’re too typically confused along,
and to avoid this confusion, a preliminary task is to differentiate these clearly. We will consider three types here</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
1. Descriptive
ethics</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
2.
Normative ethics</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
3. Meta-ethics<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<b>Descriptive ethics<o:p></o:p></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
First,
one would possibly want to understand what ethical values are held by the
members (or groups) of the Community of that one is a component (or by some
individual or cluster of individuals). Note additionally that one may notice
that this society principally holds some worth that another society tends to
reject. It also happen that most people of the society endorse some value
whereas some other members of the society tend to reject it. Moreover, some
people may reject the values that are held in their own society and adapt the values
of another society. Answers to such queries would be <u><a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/10/professional-ethics-proposition-types.html">descriptive propositions</a>.<o:p></o:p></u></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Characteristic
of this type of descriptive representations concerning ethical values is that
there's no inherent drawback in noting that are variations among individuals
and across (and within) the communities they form. If one is asked to describe
the values he/she simply does it, saying that number of people do or don’t hold this or that characteristics is neutral
on whether or not you ought to consider them or not.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span class="apple-style-span"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">I say ‘neutral’</span></span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">as a result of</span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">searching for</span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span class="apple-style-span"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">what</span></span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">moral</span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span class="apple-style-span"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">views are held by</span></span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">varied</span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">individuals</span><span class="apple-style-span"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">,</span></span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;"> </span></span><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">as

<b>Normative Ethics<o:p></o:p></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Normative
ethics addresses the question of ethical values that we should be living by. A
question that was left unanswered by descriptive ethics.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Professional
ethics are best understood as situated in the field of applied ethics. As the
name suggests, is what is done in applied ethics apply certain ethical values
of the matter in hand. But what are the ethical values you should use?
Normative ethics is the field of moral philosophy that attempts to answer this
question.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Normative
Ethics is that part of the ethic/moral philosophy that helps in determining
what is morally right and what is wrong. It distinguishes the honesty and
dishonesty. It develops moral rules that have a direct impact on human actions,
living, institutions, and quality of living.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
The determination
of moral standards that are justified and arrived is the main question of normative
ethics. The answers to this question fall into two broad
categories—deontological and teleological. The basic distinction between them
is that deontological theories do not appeal to value considerations in
establishing ethical standards, while teleological theories do.<b><o:p></o:p></b></div>

<b>Meta Ethics<o:p></o:p></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Meta is
the branch of ethics that deals with the most basic assumptions and foundations
moral thoughts. What do understand by right and wrong? What is the origin of
moral facts? meta ethics addresses such questions.<br />

<b style="text-align: justify;">Moral Propositions</b><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
The type of propositions where the writer
is show some sort of concern to the
moral rightness or wrongness, goodness or badness of something; a stance regarding what morally ought to or shouldn't happen, regarding the ethical rights, duties and
responsibilities of varied individuals and thus on. Again, a lot of like descriptive propositions, it's irrelevant to a proposition’s categorization as an ethical proposition whether or not it's advanced tentatively or
with nice confidence, whether or not it's accepted by you or not
and thus on. All that
matters is that the author is indeed proposing some variety of ethical worth judgment. </div>
<a name='more'></a><o:p></o:p><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Moral propositions nearly always use turns of
phrase like ‘should’,
‘good’ and thus on to specific the ethical judgment being made; such
Clue Words, as I referred to as them,
are, however, not a mindless recipe for the allocation of propositions as ethical ones. They're however clues and
will be employed in conjunction
with an intelligent appraisal of the sentence and its context as all of the clue words includes a non-moral use as well.
<a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/10/examples-and-analysis-of-ethical.html"><u>Examples</u> </a>will help understand better.<o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<b>Descriptive Propositions<i><o:p></o:p></i></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
These
propositions are those really talking about what simple fact is like. They
might be preliminary efforts, or even be absolute risky uncertainty or they
might be established facts. They might worry issues of particular element or be
large significant generalizations. They might be real or they might be
incorrect. Whatever the element of all of that is, we call them ‘descriptive
propositions’ – efforts to explain what simple fact is like.<a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/10/examples-and-analysis-of-ethical.html"> Analysis of the examples</a> is discussed in details in order to make the proposition crystal
clear.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<b>Conceptual
Propositions</b><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Conceptual
propositions neither tell us what the planet is like nor pass ethical judgment
upon it; rather, they create claims regarding the relationships among ideas. My
experience has been that this is the proposition type typically students have
most difficulty understanding – may be because such propositions do not often
occur in routine life.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<b>Ambiguous Propositions<i><o:p></o:p></i></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Ambiguous
propositions are those that are not clearly one proposition sort or another as
they stand – it all depends on how some specific idea expression is taken. Some
propositions have the tendency to be ethical(moral) one or may well be a detailed(descriptive)
one; we simply cannot tell. (Note that some propositions that may are ambiguous
if thought to be in solitude might have that potential ambiguity resolved by
the context of their prevalence.) The possible and the common type of ambiguity
would be between descriptive and moral propositions.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<b>Mixed Propositions<i><o:p></o:p></i></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Mixed
propositions are those where more than one proposition exists in the sentence
with one of them being a moral proposition and the other being a descriptive
proposition<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
Finally, for completeness, a given sentence may
constitute of a <i>mixture </i>of a conceptual proposition and some other basic
variety or it might be <i>ambiguous </i>as to whether what is present is a
conceptual proposition or some other primary type. Now after thorough look at
the types we are in a position to discuss few <a href="http://perfectcareerguide.blogspot.com/2011/10/examples-and-analysis-of-ethical.html">examples</a>.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Non-verbal
communication refers to a ways in which communication is effected
between persons when in each other's presence, by means other than
words. Non-verbal communication reinforces and complements what has been
said or written. It may contradict the verbal statement. It may
regulate or repeat the meanings of words, or it may substitute for words
altogether.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There
are number of myths about non-verbal communication. Some people wish to
study it in isolation from other communication, as if it were a
language in itself. Some assures us that if we learn the language of
non-verbal communication we can turn it to our advantage in business and
social life; some claim that we can give specific meaning to each
non-verbal cue. In fact, non-verbal and verbal systems of meaning are
interdependent and the meanings of both are very culture-dependent.
Non-verbal communication cues convey liking and disliking, dominance and
submissiveness, and high or low responsiveness.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Eye
contact is a powerful non-verbal signal. In Western culture it is
believed that eye avoidance denotes shiftiness and deviousness. People
who look you in the in the eye are admirable. Eyes regulate the flow of
communication and conversation. Gazing and starting can convey a range
of feeling and interpretation. Facial expression conveys a wide range of
emotion but human beings can get used to masking their feelings.
Providing information about emotion would seem to be the most important
function of the face in communication. It has been estimated that the
face is capable of creating 250 000 expressions.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Touching
is also very culture-specific. We are used to a gradation of touching
behavior between people according to their degree of intimacy.The degree
of touching acceptable in any social group varies according to age,
social situations and cultural background. Parents convey their feelings
towards a babies in their first months almost solely through touching.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Gesture
and posture can convey states of emotion or attitudes which, for
example, may help or hinder the public speaker. Gesture and posture are
discussed together because it is difficult to imagine one happening
without the other.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Paralanguage
refers to aspects of the voice other than the word meanings involved,
such as loudness, tone, pitch, rate, articulation and pronunciation,
pauses and silence. Together, these elements can be as important as the
meaning of the words spoken. Space communication attitudes and
relationships, such as cooperation, competition or desire to remain
aloof.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Making
use of research into non-verbal communication is important for
professional communicators. Negative cues such as shifty eyes,
fidgeting, body rigidity and nasal speech may be controlled by the
speaker and replaced by positive cues such as appropriate eye contact,
relaxed gestures and posture, and modulated, conversational speech
habits.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The answer to this question is that if you do
not use the Internet then you will miss out on what some people have
called the most significant new medium of the 20th century. The Internet
represents the convergence of all other media: writing, graphics,
publishing, television, video, telephony, and face to face communication
are available for the asking. While the future of advertising,
merchandising, education and communication lies with the so-called
"Information highway", it is the Internet which has shown exactly what
is possible on a global scale. In fact when the Information Superhighway
does reach our doorsteps, it will probably look and feel very similar
to the current Internet.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
At
present there is literally something for everyone on the Internet.
Information, jobs, science, literature, news, games, computer programs,
shopping malls, trendy hangouts, magazines, school project information,
pictures, music and video are there if you know where to look. There are
events such as Internet radio broadcast, on-line forums like the
Internet Town Hall, and Net-happenings like Internet Shakespeare
performances which beckon the real-world weary migrant.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Apart
for personal electronic mail, there are several major sources of
information. The World Wide Web is the most popular application on the
Internet today. With the Web you can both search for information and set
up as an on-line electronic publisher. The 'Usenet' is a large
collection of text-based computer conferences on just about any topic
you care to mention. 'Listservs' are electronic mail interest groups
which allow interactive messaging to a large number of like-minded
people. You can perform index searches via one of many information
services. And if you want to socialize you can access "Internet Relay
Chat" (IRC), Yahoo, MSN, Twitter, Facebook, Hi Fi etc which is real time
texting, audio and video applications of communication on Internet with
as many people you want around the globe. Newer applications include
audio and video streaming, Internet telephone, and virtual-reality
programs. Interacting with people around the world through internet
improves the communication skill and helps broadening the personality in
all respects.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is a variety of definitions of
communication. Some emphasis the transfer or sharing of knowledge;
others the mutual creation of meaning, yet others the building of mutual
understanding and consensus.</div>
<div align="justify">
<br />
As
citizens, students and professionals, we benefit by understanding
communication process and strategies, and by developing skills in
language use. A theme of this text is the importance of the professional
person being conscious of his or her purpose in communicating, and
being able to predict the consequences, positive and negative, of
various approaches of communication.<br />
<a name='more'></a>In
communication, we construct and give meaning to reality both personally
and socially. we select from the phenomenon about us those we will
attend to. We develop mental sets and frames of reference which are
related to our individual cognitive processes and also our social
conditioning.</div>
<div align="justify">
<br />
Communication
is also affected by our perception of other people. We tend to like
people who are like ourselves. Also, we tend to stereotype those with
racial or cultural features different from our own, to impose our own
theories of personality on others, and to use categorising to give
meaning to our relationships. We may develop 'halo' effects around the
qualities of people we have already decided to like.</div>
<div align="justify">
<br />
Communication
is strongly affected by society and social values. Personal and social
values will often be in conflict, leading to inconsistent communication
behavior from one situation to another Culture is different from
society. It covers our belief structures, work and play organization and
beliefs about the nature of the world. All these strongly affect
communication and human relationship</div>
<div align="justify">
<br />
Communication
professions and teaching must be based on ethical principles. Unethical
communication can be dangerous for democracy, personally corrupting and
self-defeating. A code of ethics for communication is appropriate.</div>

It is a
bit cynical to claim that employment interviews are likely a game of cat

questions are designed not so much to take information as to upset the
respondent and test his/her ability to handle unpleasant personalities.
In selection interviews the needling question is considered as good test
of character. If you are asked a stress question, the best approach is
to answer the substance of the implied attack vigorously and to ignore
the tone of aggressiveness in the question. For example,</div>

would be to explain that you gained experience from each position,
moved up the ladder each time but still wished for wider experience and a
proper launch into the field you are now applying for. Make no

the positive rather than the negative aspects of each job.</div>
